How does this relate to my genre specific research?
From looking at some of the locations used in Romantic drama films, the location is often somewhere rural, due to the mood and atmosphere these appear to create. I will be using a beach as a location as well as a number of other rural locations such as the canal, mound and fields. I will use one of the locations within a school in order to relate to an audience who also go to school or have had previous experience of this. I will also use the tall school buildings in order to relate to modern romance films such as Remember, Me, set in an Urban city where the mood and atmosphere created by the love between the two characters is oppositional to that created by the location which gives an exaggerated effect. I will use the bedrooms to build on characterisation of both protagonists, commonly seen in films such as in The First Time, where the female protagonist played by Brit Robertson, has a room which is bright and conflicting to the rest of her plain house, reflecting how she stands out in society and is proud to do so. The mish-mash of magazine cutouts on her walls reflect her hopes and dreams, whilst my characters room will do the same, with the female protagonist's memories on the walls in the form of pictures from when she was younger.
